I’m so excited to invite you to Return to Your Heart, a five-week creative journey designed to help you step away from the daily grind, reconnect with yourself, and explore what wants to emerge through art. 🎨💗

This isn’t about knowing how to paint or creating a “perfect” picture. Trust me, I know how hard that can feel!

It’s about trusting your heart, following your creativity, and giving yourself permission to discover something new about YOU.

Over five weeks, we’ll combine meditation, intuitive painting, reflection, and meaningful connection in a supportive creative space at Dottie’s Art Studio in Plainfield.

I’ve been reflecting lately on who I’ve become…

In 2024, I registered a business with the state under the name Modern Mystics Collective.

I didn’t fully understand the name.

I didn’t really know what I was going to offer.

And I definitely didn’t know how to run a business.

Truly, I had no clue what I was doing. I just knew something inside me was asking me to begin.

So I did.

Instead of waiting until I had everything figured out, I started moving in the direction of what made me feel alive and joyful.

I followed creativity. Curiosity. Connection. Intuition. Beauty. Play.

I kept choosing the experiences that brought me closer to myself.

And even as the world around me has often felt heavy or scary, I became even more devoted to the simple miracle of being alive—to gratitude, serenity, peace, possibility and joy.

What I didn’t realize then was that I wasn’t only building a business.

I was becoming the person who could create it.

Over these past two years, I’ve learned to trust myself differently. I’ve become more willing to follow what I feel before I can explain it. More comfortable saying no to what pulls me away from myself and yes to what feels true. More willing to create without knowing exactly where the creation will lead.

And recently, the name began to make sense.

Modern Mystics Energy isn’t simply the name of my business anymore. It reflects the way I want to live.

Fully here in my human life—creating, loving others, playing, learning and participating in the world. It has been amazing!

And at the same time, I’ve been listening to the mystery, wisdom and deeper knowing moving underneath it all, which has also been amazing.

Recently, my friend Dawn published a book called The Spiral of Remembering: A Journey Home to the Self. ✨

Even the title moved me, because that is what these past two years have felt like.

Not becoming someone entirely new.

Remembering more of who I already was.

I thought I was creating Modern Mystics.

But in so many ways, Modern Mystics was creating me.

To my extra special team of family and friends who have encouraged me...Thank you! I don’t have to know exactly where the path leads to trust the next step.

My heart is very full after sharing my creations at Art in the Park.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth, browsed my art, asked me about my guided creative experiences, picked up a print, or simply shared a warm hug.
I’m especially grateful for the friends who showed up to support me — Heidi, Vicky, Garrett, Junior and Kristen — your presence meant so much. And what a fun surprise to see my friends Steve and Stacey, too!

I’m celebrating a few little-big wins: I sold two fine art prints, booked a private session with my dear friend Vicky, connected with women interested in future Moms’ Night Out creative gatherings, and met so many wonderful people throughout the day.

This day felt like a big step in bringing more art and creative connection into the world — for myself and others.

✨ A New Chapter Begins ✨

After much reflection, I’ve decided not to renew my downtown studio space at the end of this month.

This transition allows me to simplify, follow my creativity, and focus more deeply on the experiences that light me up most—guided intuitive art journeys, community gatherings, and energy healing in more flexible settings.

I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has shared this chapter with me.
